Worldview as a Nurse

In my worldview, nursing implies caring for others by ensuring that their needs are met. In fact, nursing is a professional responsibility to ensure the healing and wholeness of persons who are in pain and/or sick. As a nurse, I have the responsibility of applying the skills and knowledge acquired through education and practice to relieve others from distress and pain. This makes use of healing resources, such as medicine, ventilator, oxygen supply, laboratory services and so on, to ensure that the health concerns affecting the patient are identified and addressed (Truglio-Londrigan & Lewenson, 2018). In addition, nursing involves taking responsibility for compassion, character development, and continuing growth in human connection. Compassion and character development involves being kind to others, showing concern, understanding their pain, listening to them and caring for them (Helming, Shields & Avino, 2020).Worldview in Nursing Essay. To experience professional growth, a nurse needs to be willing to address personal weaknesses and proactively work towards personal changes that improve the capacity for addressing health problems in others (Stanley, 2017). As a nurse, I have the responsibility to strive towards achieving personal growth in terms of caring for my health and caring for the health of others. I must have the capacity to offer holistic care to my patients who need help by applying the skills and knowledge acquired through training and experience to improve the lives of others who are suffering. Additionally, I should help my patients through giving them hope for a recovery, respecting their cultural and personal beliefs in wellness and health care, developing a relation of trust, and developing human connections with those who need help. Overall, my world view of nursing is that it is the science and art that makes use of healing resources and is applied in the genuine concern and compassions for persons in ill health as fellow humans.
