Almost half of all Americans use at least one prescribed drug while others use more than one drug thus indicating that prescription medication use is commonly used and is increasingly complex (Hines et al., 2020). Unfortunately, high prescription usage results in medication-related challenges.
According to research, more than 1.5 million preventable all mediation-associated severe events take place each year which incurs a cost of more than $177 billion in medication –associated mortality and morbidity (Coe et al., 2020).
