I met all my goals since I successfully created a self-assessment tool and implemented and used it to evaluate teaching methodologies and student engagement. There were measurable improvements from the tool. There are measurable improvements in student understanding, performance, and engagement in the pharmacology course. Lastly, I attended two national nursing education conferences within the twelve-month timeframe and was issued certificates from the conferences I attended.
Reflect on Competency 5, analyzing your practicum experiences: Be sure to connect your experiences directly to the competency.
Reflection: There were a lot of challenges during implementation of the self-assessment tool from both teachers and students since they were not willing to give out the information for assessment. The teaching strategies for the pharmacology course improved the understanding and performance of the students. I also acquired new skills and integrated the insights from the conferences into my teaching methodologies.
