Interprofessional Collaboration

The healthcare sector has changed from individualistic professionals to teamwork and interprofessional collaboration. According to Rosen et al. (2019), modern healthcare has become a team effort in hospitals, as it entails a host of diverse professionals who must work together to deliver quality care. Working in a healthcare setting, I was exposed to interprofessional collaboration with diverse professionals including the RN, NP, school teachers and nurses, doctors, students, and MD residents. As part of the team serving a client within the healthcare setting exposed my induvial input. I was a team player among the professionals working to impact the healthcare experience positively.

However, the implementation and coordination of teamwork among the professionals were not straightforward, as diverse challenges were experienced. In order to effectively deliver quality and effective care, the interprofessional team had to address the diversity in people’s opinions regarding the process or care practice to be utilized. With people’s diversity in views and thinking, it was a challenge to live at the final decision on the way forward. Nevertheless, this was addressed by the team leader, who effectively coordinated the team to agree to a more straightforward and more competent care delivery. According to Rosen et al. (2019)The Interprofessional Collaboration Assignment Paper, in addition to giving every professional a chance to give their view, the collaboration allowed for combined decision-making, improving patient experience as the best care was accorded.

The adoption and utilization of interprofessional collaboration resulted in an improved patient experience as the best care strategies were adopted. More so, the approach resulted in cost-effective measures promoting overall care outcomes. On the other hand, teamwork or interprofessional collaboration provided a positive community experience as care practices aligned with positive community education, addressing diverse needs.

Working in an interprofessional team not only exposed me to diversity in terms of professionals in healthcare settings, but the experience provided ample knowledge on how to address patient and/or community care needs. It also increased my awareness regarding my input on how to influence individual patient or community care experience finally positively; it exposed me to diverse ideas in care delivery and made me a better team player and communicator The Interprofessional Collaboration Assignment Paper.
