I have a Bachelor’s degree in Allied Health, and I have been working as a Respiratory Therapist for the last seventeen years. My current role involves working in all areas of the hospital, but I spend most of my time in the intensive care units. While there, I partake in ventilator management and airway management, which sometimes requires intubations. In addition to this, I attend all code blues and perform resuscitative procedures when required. More recently I have started performing these tasks on premature babies, many of whom weigh less than a pound. I have found this to be a hugely rewarding experience.
