Many people face the problem of cold extremities, which is a leading symptom in a number of syndromes. The necessity to provide healthcare services for cold extremities is generally not considered unless the causative factor is a specific disease such as hypothyroidism, peripheral neuropathy, and connective tissue disease. Contrarily, various diseases in some countries like Japan are presumed to be triggered by cold extremities. Individuals with cold extremities usually have prolonged recovery of the skin temperature and abnormal perception of temperature after exposure to cold. Low body mass index, among other characteristics such as younger age and female gender, is associated with cold extremities. Cold extremities are accompanied by symptoms such as fatigue, insomnia, headache, and decreased mental health. Tsuboi et al. (2019) conducted a research study on the burden of cold extremities on the health of women and healthcare service provision for these women. Cold extremities were associated with women who had more habitual drinking, lower sleep quality, and lower mental life quality. Research Question and Testable Null Hypothesis Discussion
Null hypothesis
Investigating the relationship between cold extremities and low body mass index in detail is necessary for the provision of statistical power. Determination of whether there is a relationship between the two variables is crucial in recognition of the degree of its burden on health. A null hypothesis is a statement that proposes the non-existence of a statistical significance of a set of certain observations (Ranganathan & Pramesh, 2019). The null hypothesis in this paper is that there is no relationship between cold extremities and low body mass index.
Research question
Is there a relationship between low body mass index and cold extremities?
The research question for this study is set out to ask what the qualitative research is meant to answer. It will be purposeful in planning for the research and helping in foreseeing any potential problems and challenges.
Independent variable
The independent variable in this research study will be cold extremities since the effect will not be changed. Its value will depend on changes made to the body mass index.
Dependent variable

Quantitative instrument
Questionnaires will be administered to research participants to determine whether a relationship exists between low body mass index and cold extremities. They will contain instructions for responding. The questionnaires will be used to gather data from respondents about their experiences and opinions, including the frequency with which they have experienced cold in the extremities in the past year.
Participants
Research participants will voluntarily participate in the study after giving informed consent. Participants of the study will include women of different age groups with varying health statuses and body weights. Convenience sampling will be used since the study will consider individuals who are available and ready to participate. Inclusion criteria will involve women who have previously experienced cold extremities.
Statistical test
The statistical test for this research study will be the degree of correlation between cold extremities and body mass index. Reason for conducting the study and how it would glorify our Lord Jesus Christ
The reason for conducting this study is to establish whether there is a relationship between low body mass index and cold extremities. The results of this research study will have an impact on healthcare provision since necessary steps will be taken to enhance addressing any identified health problems. This would glorify our Lord Jesus Christ since nurses provide healthcare to patients based on faith and love for patients. Utilization of this study in providing care to patients is, by extension, revealing God’s will, plan, relationship, and nature with man.
