A family health assessment is crucial in evaluating families and examining the areas where the family members need to need to work on so that they improve the entire health status of the family. Most often, family members are evaluated using functional health patterns which provide various functions which must be examined. The social determinants of health (SDOH) refer to the complex circumstances which have the potential to influence individuals’ health, and they include political, socioeconomic, education, and accessibility of healthcare. Proper family support can help in changing what and where the family buys food. All family members have also recorded that they have problems related to remembering.
The impact of the SDOH on the family is that they have made it difficult for the members of the family to acquire regular medical checkup. Instead, the family is limited to a single medical assessment every year. This presents a health risk to Mrs. Johnson, who requires uniform and regular follow-up which can make it possible to review and examine her treatment plans and make it possible for her physician to provide the support required. Also, Mr. Johnson risks further damage to his health as a result of disregarding his body weight. The two daughters have no major health issues, but there is a need for providing them with routine checkups. These factors are mainly prevalent dues to lack of enough money and ignorance regarding health implications of poor health decisions.
Mr. Johnson and Mrs. Johnson are 45 and 38 years old, respectively.
