Reflective learning is a process that helps individuals learn from their past experiences and apply that knowledge to their future. This type of learning is important because it allows people to reflect on what they have done in the past, and learn from their mistakes. It also helps people to set goals for the future and plan how they can achieve those goals. In view of this, this appreciative inquiry is a reflective report on my nursing career.

A nursing career means many things to many people. For some, it is a calling to help those in need. Others find fulfillment in the science and research aspects of the profession. And still, others enjoy the fast-paced environment and the opportunity to work with a variety of people. I have guided by this, had the opportunity to fulfill a long-standing desire to serve people in need, especially the sick. Working professionally as a nurse has brought me into close contact with patients who are in need of medical care and for me an opportunity to serve and care. Admittedly, I always had a desire to work with people in and in an environment that brings the best out of me and nursing practice has done exactly that. For hours on end, my timetable and schedule are filled up and despite the tiredness and fatigue, I appreciate the fact that I am busy and doing something very important for myself. I have come to resign to the fact that no matter what draws someone to a nursing career, there are certain qualities that all nurses share. They are caring and compassionate, able to think critically and make quick decisions, and have a strong desire to help others. These qualities make nurses ideal candidates for a career in healthcare. Healthcare is a rapidly changing field, and nurses must be able to adapt to new technologies and treatments (Karaca & Durna, 2019). They must also be able to work with a variety of people, from patients and their families to doctors and other healthcare professionals. A nursing career can be both challenging and rewarding. It is a chance to make a difference in the lives of others, and to work with some of the most amazing people in the world.

First, the value of autonomy is reflected in the nurse’s commitment to patient self-determination. Nurses respect the rights of patients to make their own decisions about their health care, including decisions about treatment options and end-of-life care. Nurses also provide patients with information about their health conditions and treatment options so that they can make informed decisions. Second, the value of beneficence is reflected in the nurse’s commitment to promoting the health and well-being of patients. Nurses use their knowledge and skills to provide high-quality care that meets the individual needs of patients. Nurses also advocate for patients’ access to care and resources. Third, the value of non-maleficence is reflected in the nurse’s commitment to do no harm. Nurses take steps to protect patients from avoidable harm and to minimize the risks of treatment. Nurses also provide honest and accurate information to patients so that they can make informed decisions about their care. Fourth, the value of justice is reflected in the nurse’s commitment to providing care that is fair and equitable. Nurses strive to provide care that is accessible, culturally competent, and respectful of patients’ rights. As a registered nurse, I am motivated by the satisfaction that comes with knowing that I am making a difference in the lives of others. I am also motivated by the challenges that I face on a daily basis. I enjoy the challenge of finding new and innovative ways to care for my patients. I also enjoy the challenge of keeping up with the latest research and developments in the nursing field. I am constantly learning new things and that motivates me to stay in the nursing profession. One of the most satisfying aspects of my job is knowing that I am making a difference in the lives of my patients. I have had the privilege of caring for patients of all ages and from all walks of life. I have seen firsthand the difference that nursing care can make in the lives of my patients. I am constantly reminded of why I became a nurse and that motivates me to continue to care for my patients. I also find motivation in the challenges that I face on a daily basis. I enjoy the challenge of finding new and innovative ways to care for my patients. I also enjoy the challenge of keeping up with the latest research and developments in the nursing field. I am constantly learning new things and that motivates me to stay in the nursing profession.

My three short-term goals are to (1) learn as much as possible about nursing and healthcare while completing my undergraduate degree, (2) gain as much clinical experience as possible through various healthcare experiences and volunteering, and (3) take The National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) to become a registered nurse. My three long-term goals are to (1) continue my education and obtain my Master of Science in Nursing degree, (2) specialize in pediatric nursing, and (3) become a certified nurse practitioner. A BSN degree will help me reach my short-term and long-term goals in several ways. First, the coursework will provide me with a strong foundation in nursing knowledge and theory. Second, the clinical experiences that are a part of the degree program will give me the opportunity to apply what I have learned in the classroom to real-life patients. Finally, the degree will prepare me to take the NCLEX, which is required for licensure as a registered nurse. My personal nursing philosophy is based on the belief that nursing is a caring profession. I believe that nursing is more than just providing medical care to patients; it is also about providing emotional and social support. I believe that each patient is unique and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. I am committed to providing the best possible care to each and every patient I care for.
