Part 2: A Plan for Social Change

I understand how vital it is as a nurse leader to apply a global perspective to my local practice (Heinen, 2019). The comparison and analysis of global health policies carried out in Part 1 of this assignment clarified the differences in healthcare systems and their effects on people worldwide. In order to bring about societal change and enhance healthcare results, I suggest the following strategy:

Advocacy for Global Perspective

I would encourage healthcare practitioners in my town to become more knowledgeable and conscious of the importance of incorporating a global perspective into their daily work. To do this, it would be necessary to plan training sessions, conferences, and seminars with an emphasis on comprehending global health policies and challenges as well as how they affect local healthcare. In addition, I would work with academic institutions and neighborhood healthcare groups to integrate global health themes into nursing students’ curricula. Impact on Local Practice and Role

The incorporation of a global perspective in local practice and nurse leadership would enhance healthcare professionals’ cultural competence, promote awareness of global advances, and enhance the standard of care (Drame et al., 2022). It would also foster a sense of shared accountability and global solidarity, encouraging proactive responses to global health issues like environmental health issues, infectious disease outbreaks, and health inequities. This would ultimately benefit the local healthcare sector and the overall healthcare system.

Contribution to Social Change

As a nurse leader, I aim to create a more compassionate healthcare system by incorporating a global perspective. This approach allows me to advocate for health equity laws and address socioeconomic determinants of health, particularly for disadvantaged groups (Kuehnert et al., 2022). By studying global health issues and promoting policies that expand access to affordable healthcare, I can help address healthcare gaps and promote social change.

In summary, adopting a global viewpoint as a nurse leader in your local practice is essential to promoting constructive social change in the medical field.
