You must proofread your paper. But do not strictly rely on your computer’s spell-checker and grammar-checker; failure to do so indicates a lack of effort on your part and you can expect your grade to suffer accordingly. Papers with numerous misspelled words and grammatical mistakes will be penalized. Read over your paper – in silence and then aloud – before handing it in and make corrections as necessary. Often it is advantageous to have a friend proofread your paper for obvious errors. Handwritten corrections are preferable to uncorrected mistakes.
Use a standard 10 to 12 point (10 to 12 characters per inch) typeface. Smaller or compressed type and papers with small margins or single-spacing are hard to read. It is better to let your essay run over the recommended number of pages than to try to compress it into fewer pages.
Likewise, large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and any other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are unacceptable, wasteful of trees, and will not fool your professor.Global-Role in Health Case Study Essay
The paper must be neatly formatted, double-spaced with a one-inch margin on the top, bottom, and sides of each page. When submitting hard copy, be sure to use white paper and print out using dark ink. If it is hard to read your essay, it will also be hard to follow your argument.
This module of study has focused on many aspects of human health, anatomy, and the disease process. It has included such topics as the human organ systems, the mechanism of disease and the resulting disruption of homeostasis, the integumentary system, and the musculoskeletal system. The following case studies explore how burn classification will affect treatment, how joint injuries can disrupt mobility, and last, how a sedentary lifestyle can contribute to a decline in a person’s health status. The importance of understanding disease and knowing when to seek treatment is the first step toward enjoying a balanced and healthy life.Global-Role in Health Case Study Essay
Case Study #1-Mr. MacPherson’s Burns
The Percentage of Body Surface Involvement In addition to the burn’s classification, the percentage of body surface involvement is important for the medical team to determine the course of treatment and the chances of survival. According to the description of Mr. MacPherson’s burns, he had bilateral burns to his arms and hands. He also had burns to his face. To determine the total body surface area involved, a standard Lund-Browder chart is used, which employs the “rule of nines.” Using this criterion, Mr. MacPherson’s burns are calculated as follows:
Bilateral arm burns = 18%
Bilateral palm burns = 2%
Facial burn = 4.5%
Thus, Mr. MacPherson presented with burns that cover 24.5% of his total body surface area (University of Wisconsin school of medicine and public health, 2014). The burn area and the severity of the burn will determine both the treatment and the prognosis for the patient. Global-Role in Health Case Study
