Government Regulations and Social Insurance Programs Discussion
The Californian government has placed rules to assist the public in preventing harm caused by the food. Nevertheless, the role of the lobbyist groups has been seen in controlling the policies aimed at managing the nation. The government has placed regulations that have focused on food regulations and they begin from licensing, to production, distribution, and then storage (Greenberg & Page, 2018). The laws mainly aim at making sure that the food manufactures are healthy to people. The registration has to be followed on all the home-based industries and the imports. The government does these activities to protect the public from any kind of hazards that may arise from food poisoning and the related diseases. The government has been doing the best to protect itself from the public and balancing itself to make sure losses are not incurred. In making the regulations concerning the environment, drugs and food, the lobbyists have been at the center of it all (Greenberg & Page, 2018). There is a situation whereby there is a conflict between the lobbyists and scientists. Even if science clearly explains the effects of some products like sugar and red meat laws. Which are passed, it has bene hesitant in reducing how people use these products since the lobbyists have not passed these legislations. For instance, in 2015, the government had bene reviewing its rules on food that were developed in ever five years (Taylor & Godefroy, 2023). They ignored the recommendations made by the Dietary Guidelines Committee about reducing red meat and sugar being consumed due to the impact some of these products on people. The lobbyists placed pressure on the congress and some areas were avoided as the rules were being made. Government Regulations and Social Insurance Programs Discussion
