The dynamic and multifaceted nursing profession calls for continuous learning and updating of skills to align with the growing patient care needs. Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) nurses are equally mandated to engage in continuous professional development for skills renewal and development. Lifelong learning in nursing is a crucial aspect of critical care education. According to Mlambo et al. (2021), life-long learning is open to everyone; it is centered on individual learning needs, and it is life-long, that is, lasting through the nurses’ career and professional practice. These are the key characteristics of life-long learning that can be reflected in the CVICU’s heart nurse’s interaction with the patients, caretakers, friends, and families in their advocacy and educator roles.
