Reflection
My nursing program’s coursework and activities are intended to assist me in achieving the Program Outcomes in delivering high-quality, secure, patient-centered care based on holistic health concepts. Here, I will gain knowledge about how to apply the ideas of holistic health to patient care via coursework and hands-on training, resulting in a thorough strategy that attends to each patient’s physical, emotional, social, and spiritual requirements. In addition, I am striving to attain advanced-level nursing education abilities from AACN Essentials Domain 1. One of the skills I will concentrate on is showcasing clinical judgment that is supported by a wide body of information. Here, I will hone my capacity to understand complicated patient circumstances, draw from my vast knowledge base, and come to wise conclusions regarding patient care by taking part in clinical experiences and completing case studies.
Moreover, the NONPF Independent Practice Competency of delivering patient-centered care while respecting cultural diversity and the patient or designee as a full participant in decision-making is another goal I am working toward (Thomas et al., 2017). I will gain knowledge about how to provide culturally competent care via the coursework and hands-on training, understanding that every patient has particular needs and preferences that must be taken into consideration. In order to completely include patients and their families in decision-making processes and to respect their choices, I will also learn how to successfully interact with them. Along with enhancing these competencies, I also want to concentrate on honing my coordination of transitional care services inside and across care settings. By ensuring that patients get seamless treatment when they transition from one healthcare environment to another, I can lower the possibility of medical mistakes and guarantee that they receive the best care possible. But I’m pleased about the chances my nursing education will provide me to further my abilities and knowledge in these fields. I will be well-prepared to provide high-quality, secure, patient-centered care that is based on holistic health concepts after completing the coursework and practical experiences. In addition, I will have the abilities and information required to work as a certified independent practitioner, displaying the greatest degree of responsibility for my professional practice and delivering the best possible treatment. I will be able to work well with other medical professionals as a nurse, contribute to the creation of professional standards and evidence-based care, and educate both professional and lay caregivers in the provision of culturally and religiously sensitive care.
