Justification of Clients’ Diagnosis
The first client W. F was diagnosed with severe Opioid use disorder. According to the DSM-5,Opioid use disorder is characterized with multiple symptoms, including euphoria, general discontent, inability to regulate the use of opioid, uncontrollable cravings, drowsiness, changes in sleep habits, frequent flu-like symptoms, weight loss, reduced libido, lack of hygiene, isolation from family or friends, and changes in exercise habits (Turner et al., 2018). This client portrays euphoria since she is too confident and wants to dominate the group discussion. Additionally, she is speaking more and listening less. Recommendable Therapy for the Group
A cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) would be recommendable for this family. This type of psychotherapeutic treatment assists individuals to learn how to point out and change destructive thought patterns, which influence their behaviours and emotions negatively(Gautam et al., 2020).Multiple techniques such as journaling, relaxation strategies, role-playing,and mental distractions are utilized to assist individuals in overcoming these thoughts.CBT aims at changing one’s negative thoughts automatically.
