How far have you come?
I feel proud of myself because my knowledge of informatics in week eight has notably improved compared to that in week one. Before this class, I was not sure whether my knowledge of informatics was important as a nurse. But now, I understand the vital role of nursing informatics and its applicability in my profession. This has enabled me to put more effort into learning and to improve my informatics skills and knowledge, and my scores have improved significantly. With the knowledge I have gained, I can comfortably apply informatics knowledge in real-life experiences during practice which makes it enjoyable.
Application of information to improve knowledge in nursing informatics
The information acquired will help in the provision of evidence-based practice care. Evidence-based practice helps enhance quality and safe care by using the available research to support clinical decisions. This will help improve my informatics knowledge and skills in evidence-based research (Bergren & Maughan, 2020). Secondly, through expertise in informatics, I will be able to operate Electronic health records during practice. This will help boost my experience in sharing vital patient information and accurate recording of patient information. Therefore, before I finish my course, I will have gained adequate skills in informatics that will help me fulfil my role effectively. Reflection on AACN Essentials Informatics Self-Assessment Essay
