My organization, which is the Inova Fairfax Hospital could introduce temperature checks at different designated places in the campus. These temperature check points should have a digital thermometer that is frequently serviced to ensure it gives correct readings. In the wake of COVID 19 pandemic, ensuring that all visitors within the care facility, including the staff members, are aware of their COVID status, remains vital. It would be tragic to have individuals with the virus risking infection to patients and staff members, further burdening the care organization and the healthy staff in providing care for the newly sick.            Another measure that the organization could take in avoiding spread of infection would be to provide latex gloves to everyone in the facility. These gloves should be place at all major entrances to ensure that everyone accessing the facility wears them (Islam et al., 2020). The organization should also make this mandatory policy, including wearing of masks, which should also be provided alongside the gloves. Making this measure a compulsory practice would be beneficial to the organization’s staff members and patients as it is preventive.            Lastly, I firmly believe that my organization should consider investing heavily in telemedicine especially for the non-emergency cases that can be handled remotely (Paramore & Smith, 2022). Most clinical visits are done physically, which poses a risk of spreading infection to staff and other patients. Telemedicine allows for virtual consultations, especially for some mental health patients who need not visit the care facility to receive services. In that case, my organization needs to invest in infrastructure such as robust internet service that allows practitioners to practice telemedicine safely without the need to interact with patients and risk infection. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS), and the Joint Commission (JC) require that health care organizations maintain risk management programs to address infection control. Detail three measures that your health care organization (or any health care organization) could implement, beyond what is currently in practice, to support the delivery of safe health care services and avoid the spread of infection (e.g., placing hand washing devices at all of the public entrances of the health care facility).
