Background information and the issue

The Medicare for All Act proposes a single-payer healthcare system that would extend Medicare coverage for all Americans (Johnson et al., 2020). It is a solution to the problem of accessing affordable healthcare, particularly for people without insurance. The strategy’s primary goal is to reduce the number of people without insurance in the US. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, it was estimated that there were over 30,000,000 uninsured individuals. Even insured people may be forced to pay for large copayments or deductibles. These can deter them from seeking the medical care they need. The program’s goal is to provide complete healthcare coverage to all Americans and reduce the financial barriers that prevent them from getting it. The Medicare For All Act Essay Discussion Paper

The Medicare for Everyone Act of 2020 has impacted the socioeconomic variable the most. Factors like education, employment, and income influence healthcare availability (Campbell et al., 2020). Because of their lack or inadequate insurance coverage, low-income people and families suffer from worse health outcomes. Still, this group has unaddressed medical conditions, and as such, they are late in seeking treatment. In this strategy, single-payer systems are put in front of financial barriers to healthcare decisions, wiping out inequities caused by inequality in society. Evidence Base

Data back up the universal coverage of this type of system, similar to Medicare. The analysis of various global health systems has indicated that countries with universal health coverage have better healthcare outcomes, less expensive per capita healthcare and higher health equity. The United States, Canada, and Britain usually take beats, topping the chart in healthcare quality compared to all the other countries (Chen et al., 2021). Healthcare-related research has also been undertaken in the US, which shows that people who don’t have health insurance are riskier to delay or refuse life-saving medical treatments, which in the future can worsen their health and push them to incur additional long-term costs. This act explicitly targets Medicare for All, which offers comprehensive healthcare coverage for everyone in the United States of America. It is targeted towards enhancing healthcare, bringing about healthcare equality, and ensuring fair healthcare provision throughout the various socioeconomic bounds.
