Strengths and Challenges in Nursing Practice Competencies with Adults

So far in my nursing career, I have realized that communicating with and developing a connection with adult patients is one of my skills. I appreciate empathetic communication and active listening because they help build trust and make it possible to provide patients with comprehensive care. Developing treatment plans that are patient-centered has benefited from the ability to critically assess difficult medical conditions (Buttaro et al., 2019). I admit, though, that I still need to improve my capacity for complex diagnostic reasoning. While I am competent at recognizing common health problems, I occasionally have trouble correctly diagnosing uncommon disorders. The changing nature of healthcare also requires ongoing efforts to stay abreast of the most recent methods that are based on evidence (Cora, 2020). Career Goals and Objectives

Taking this course will help me achieve my professional objective of becoming an AGPCNP. Focusing on adult and geriatric patient populations will give me the particular information and abilities I need to be successful in this position. I hope to have a big impact on patients’ lives by developing competence in managing chronic illnesses, promoting health maintenance, and offering comprehensive care to adults and older adults. In particular, this course will assist me in reaching a greater level of expertise in diagnosing precisely, generating tailored treatment strategies, and analyzing complicated health disorders in adults. It will also provide me with the ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams and apply evidence-based strategies. In the end, I hope to improve patient outcomes, contribute to healthcare breakthroughs, and establish myself as a capable AGPCNP who provides compassionate and thorough care to adult and older adult populations by polishing these competencies (Wyman et al., 2019).
