Networking Opportunities

The mission and vision of Walden University and the College of Nursing aligns with my professional and academic goals. First, the College of Nursing’s mission to empower learners to effect positive social change through the promotion of health and wellness in individuals, families, and communities aligns with my goal to provide high-quality, patient-centered care that promotes health and wellness. Second, the College’s vision of preparing the next generation of nurse leaders and educators who addresses complex healthcare challenges aligns with my goal to be a leader in promoting health and wellness and advocating for policies that improve healthcare outcomes for all. Networking is important for achieving professional and academic goals because it allows individuals to establish and maintain connections with others in their field or industry (Wu & Sheng, 2019). Networking provides an access to valuable resources such as job opportunities, mentorship, and educational programs and helps individuals to stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices (Segato & Raab, 2019). In addition to this, networking is beneficial for pushing toward the attainment of personal and professional goals. This is in the sense that networking provides access to research collaborations, academic conferences, and other educational opportunities.
